one last blog ;(

This is the last blog I will be posting for this class, as all good things come to an end :( It has been such a fun class for me. I would admit that I have not read this many novels in 4 months before in my life ( well, maybe the time I binged read Percy Jackson and the Olympians LOL), but I really enjoy the books I picked.

I can't help but hate the characters sometimes hahah, but that's a part of the experience. I read most of the books as PDFs, and some of them I quite enjoy, so I will be buying a few and maybe start a collection hahahah. My favourite reads were Money to Burn and The Book of Chameleons. The reason is probability: I find true crime interesting for the money to burn, and I loved that we had an unusual narrator in the book of chameleons. I also might go back and read the books I did not pick. I want to know what they're like and find more books I like!

When I was young, I used to read all the time. There wasn't a time when my mom and I skipped the bookstore when we were in town. I was always bargaining with her so she would buy me at least one book to take home. But later, the books became increasingly expensive, and I grew out of the comic series I was obsessed with. The good thing was that my reading habit had rubbed off on my younger cousins. They would come to my room and borrow the books. Usually, after I finish them. And I used to finish reading so quickly that my mom thought I lied about finishing them just so I could have more books ahahahah. Oh, and I had beef with my cousins about the books, too, lol. I had to move to another province for school, and I left my whole collection at my childhood home, where it stayed. I would come home on the weekends and find some books missing or even lying around the house in the weirdest spot. I told them that I love all my books and don't mind them reading them as long as they take care of them. Anyway, half the collection is probably gone.

I was ranting, but what I'm trying to say is that this class have reminded me of my younger self and inspired me to read more. I truly appreciate all the discussions we had and the occasional debates. I will miss this class dearly :)

  1. "I told them that I love all my books and don't mind them reading them as long as they take care of them. Anyway, half the collection is probably gone." Ah, yes, I know that problem. But it's always a good time to start building a modest library again! I hope you're inspired to do it.

  3. I really resonated with your childhood story. As a kid I finished books scarily fast and would ask my sister to buy me tons when she had money. Unfortunately as our priorities change when we age, our passions are pushed into the distance. Through this class i was able to find it again like you 🥺

  4. Hi Por! The childhood memories you talked about are so sweet!! Same as you, this class has sparked the desire to read more again (it's been so long since I've read one book a week). I loved having class with you, and I hope you have a great final term!! Happy graduation!!!!ᐠ( ᐛ )ᐟ
